That’s where friendship stepped in. Together with winemaker Gregor Mikuž, the two embarked on a relentless pursuit of knowledge. They explored every nuance of Riesling—the undisputed king of white wine varieties. Tasting endless samples, studying the subtle differences in terroir, and searching for the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, they slowly uncovered the grape’s true nature.

Their journey brought them to a realization—it wasn’t just about making great wine. It was about finding the right slopes, the right soil, the perfect home for the king. And then, almost serendipitously, they saw it. Meljski Hrib had been in front of them all along, waiting to reveal its magic.

From that moment, they devoted themselves to the land. Days were spent among the vines, nights in the cellar, learning, refining, and shaping the character of what would soon become Edvard Riesling. But there was one final lesson.

Great wine takes time. A king isn’t born—he is made, shaped by patience, nurtured through years, and allowed to mature into his full glory. Edvard Riesling needed time to develop, to become not just good, but exceptional.
